Top 6 Canberra & Hilltops Region Wine Tasting at the Argyle, The Rocks - Sydney

What springs to mind when someone mentions Canberra, public servants, politicians and round-a-bouts maybe? Add quality cool climate wine to the list. In vineyards spread across a huge area in all directions from the capital, the Canberra District has a winemaking history stretching back 160 years. In recent times Canberra has made a name for itself with stunning Shiraz Viognier care of Clonakilla but it is also forging a reputation for quality Riesling as well as several other grape varieties.

Close to Canberra is the Hilltops region near Young. Canberra wineries are sourcing grapes from this cool climate area and the diversity of styles across such a large geographic space is truly breathtaking and well worth every wine drinker’s attention.

We wanted to launch our first large scale wine tasting event combining the best that Canberra and Hilltops have to offer. For cool weather like this, what could be better than tasting some great cool climate wines and discussing the wines with the winemakers? Wines on offer will be from these Top 6 prestigious wineries:
